Why Local Recommendations Matter More Than Generic Reviews

Generic reviews flatten a city. Neighbourhood recommendations keep distance, timing and the actual street in the story.

Abstract neighbourhood cards on a warm paper background

A 4.6 from 2,000 reviews can still waste your evening. The shop may be excellent — on the other side of the city, at hours you cannot use, for a job you do not have.

A local recommendation is smaller and more honest: Singh Auto Works, inner road, 211 m, they did the clutch last month.

What generic reviews flatten

  • Distance. Stars do not walk.
  • Time. A clinic that is perfect at 11am is useless at 8pm.
  • Job shape. “Great restaurant” is not “they packed tiffin for a feverish kid.”

What a neighbourhood recommendation keeps

The street. The last visit. The thing that went wrong and how it was fixed. That is why Locza treats recommendations as a first-class object next to services and businesses.

How to write one that helps

Name the place, the locality, the job, and one constraint (after 7pm, cash only, first floor walk-up). Avoid “best in Mohali.”

See Sector 70 for the tone we expect.

FAQ

Can recommendations be fake?

Yes. That is why reporting exists and why we do not invent review counts on this website. Treat a single new account shouting five-star language as weakly as you would on any other network.

Should I still read maps reviews?

Yes, as a second pass — after you know the place is actually near you.
