Privacy Policy
Last updated August 24, 2026. This policy describes how LOCZO handles information on the website and in the app.
1. Introduction
LOCZO (“we”, “us”) is a hyperlocal community app and website for India. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
The marketing website at loczo.in is a static site. It does not run user accounts and does not display third-party advertisements. The mobile app is where accounts, posts, messages, and local discovery happen.
This page is a product privacy notice, not legal advice. If we add new data practices, we will update it.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use LOCZO, we may collect:
- Name
- Username
- Email address
- Location information (the locality you choose, and device location when you allow it)
- Profile information such as bio, interests, and avatar
- Content you voluntarily submit, including posts, comments, listings, and messages
- Images and other media you choose to upload
- App usage information needed to operate and improve the service, such as basic technical logs
You can browse some content without creating an account. Signing in (email or Google) is required for actions such as posting, messaging, or managing a profile.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Create and maintain your account
- Show nearby posts, services, businesses, listings, and events
- Deliver messages, notifications, and account-related email
- Moderate content and keep the community usable
- Operate, secure, and improve LOCZO
- Respond to support, safety, and legal requests
We do not sell personal information to advertisers. LOCZO does not display third-party advertisements.
4. Location information
Location is used to provide local discovery and location-based features. In the app you choose a locality so nearby content can be shown. Device location, when you grant it, is used to help with that discovery — not to publish a live map of your movements.
5. User-generated content
Posts, comments, recommendations, listings, events, reviews, and profile text you submit are stored so other people in the relevant locality can see them (except private messages). You are responsible for what you share. Do not post other people’s personal information without a good reason to do so.
6. Images and media
If you upload photos or other media, we store them to display in the app. Do not upload images you do not have the right to share. We may remove media that violates ourTerms or Child Safety Standards.
7. Account information
Account details such as email, password (stored as a hash, not in plain text), Google sign-in identifiers when you use Google, and profile fields are used to authenticate you and show your profile. Keep your login details private.
8. Communications
We may email you about your account, security, or service changes. In-app notifications may tell you about likes, comments, follows, or messages. You can adjust some of these in the app. Safety and legal notices may still be sent when needed.
9. Third-party service providers
We use infrastructure needed to run LOCZO. That currently includes hosting for the website and API, a database, and Google sign-in when you choose to authenticate with Google. This website also loads fonts from Google Fonts.
These providers process information only as needed to provide their service to us. We do not currently run a third-party advertising network or an advertising pixel on this website. If we add analytics or other vendors later, we will name them here.
10. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections to the API and hashed passwords. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please use a strong password and tell us if you think your account has been misused.
11. Data retention
We keep account and content data while your account is active and as needed to operate LOCZO, handle disputes, and meet legal obligations. When you delete content or an account, we remove or anonymise what we no longer need, unless we must keep a copy for safety or law.
12. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may be able to:
- Access or update profile information in the app
- Choose a locality and control device location permissions in your OS settings
- Ask us for a copy of personal information we hold
- Ask us to correct or delete personal information
- Sign out or stop using the service
Email blackspecter14@gmail.com to make a request. We may need to verify that the request comes from the account holder.
13. Account deletion
You can request that we delete your LOCZO account by emailingblackspecter14@gmail.com from the address on the account. The app may also offer a delete-account control. After we process a deletion request, we remove or anonymise personal data we no longer need, except where we must retain limited records (for example, to handle abuse or legal claims).
14. Children's privacy
LOCZO is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. See ourChild Safety Standards. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate action.
15. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this policy as the product changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of LOCZO after an update means you should read the new version.
